This course is intended for individuals who have not had an accounting course and are interested in what accounting is all about. The course focuses on the role of accounting in government by examining how business transactions affect the financial statements. Topics included: basic accounting theory, expenditure and disbursement; inventory, financial reporting, budgetary accounting, charts of accounts, and opening and closing the general ledger.
